All Regions / Divisions "Off The Table" Rules

Match Rules

The match rules for “on the table play” are available on the website.

If you need guidance please contact your league rep directly.

Match Format & Scorecard

A match will be made up of 12 frames – this is 3 sets of 4 singles.  Any individual may play a maximum of once in each set of 4 frames.

League Table Points Scoring - 3 points are awarded where a team wins 7 or more frames.  2 points will be awarded if a team is winning if the match concludes but less than 7 frames have been won.  1 point will be awarded to each team for a draw (regardless of number of frames completed).  0 points will be awarded to a team for a loss.

In a KO cup competition, it will be a race to 7 frames – if the match reaches 6-6 then the final frame can be contested by any legal player regardless of whether they appeared in 0, 1, 2 or 3 times in frames previously that evening). In the event of a play off being required, a coin will be tossed to determine who breaks. For KO games – if the match is halted due to a venue calling time, the match will reconvene at 8pm the following evening at the same venue.  If the venue cannot accommodate, please contact your rep and the league will assist in finding an alternative venue.  An alternative date and time (within 72 hours of the original fixture) may be used if both captains agree and inform the league, however deadline for submission of a final result is strictly 12pm on the Monday.  Failure to comply will result in both teams being eliminated

Matches should be started just after 8pm.  Where a team arrives late (or not at all) frame 1 can be claimed at 8.10pm…and then 1 further frame claimed for every 5 minutes.  At 8.40 a 7-0 win can be claimed.  All no shows will result in a 7-0 final result.  Teams guilty of repeat no shows will be subject to further action.  If you are the attending team and your opponents do not show – you should fill in player names in frames 1 to 7 - without any wins / losses and inform your committee rep. These players will be awarded an attendance mark (towards cup eligibility) but no wins or losses will be registered from a statistics perspective.

League matches will be played with a cut off time, no new frames to start after 10:50pm and no further shots to be played after 11:10pm.  If this means the match isn’t completed then the score at 11:10pm will be the final score of the match. (refer to League Table Points Scoring section above).

All team selections must be entered into the Rackemapp scorecard – Frames 1 to 4 before frame 1 commences, frames 5 to 8 before frame 5 commences and frames 9 to 12 before frame 9 commences.  The system is set to force “blind” team entry - so your opponent does not see your team until they enter their own team – thus there is no requirement for the home team to enter the team first.

Any player not ready to commence the frame when it is due to be played should be given a 2 minute warning.  If not ready to play after this then the frame will be awarded to the other player.

New players should be added by the captain (on or before the evening) - before the frame is contested.  Anyone failing to populate a player name will concede the frame and the committee will not retrospectively correct this.  If you have a technical issue on the evening please speak to your rep to log this – if not flagged at the time we will not be correcting this for you.  Any “new” player signed on must not have played for another team in the league this season – if they have you should consult your league rep to determine if a transfer is possible.

Breaking order – home team always breaks first and will continue to break in all odd numbered frames (1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11).  The away team breaks in all even numbered frames (2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12).  As noted above if a 13th frame is required in a KO scenario – a coin will be tossed to decide who breaks.

Refereeing duty should be alternate – The team that are breaking should also nominate a referee from their team to officiate the game.

A timer may be implemented at any time if either one of the teams wants to do so.  If a timer is introduced, then this should be ideally handled by somebody from the opposite team to the referee of that game.  If this is not possible / not practical then the ref and timer may be from the same team.

Frame results should be updated at the conclusion of each frame to keep the “live” score up to date in the system.  This requires one captain to enter the win/loss and the other captain to approve – this ensures that we have no disputes over results.

We remind captains that a player is only eligible for any KO Competition if they have played in a minimum of 33% of the league fixtures at that time.  This threshold is very low – so no exceptions will be made for any circumstances or errors the captain has made on previous scorecards.

No rearrangements to be played after the published match date.

If both teams agree, a match may be brought forward but never moved backwards. “Double headers” are not allowed.  We remind teams that there is no obligation to rearrange – if one captain wishes to stick to the original published date, then they have the right to do so.

To rearrange a match (as above) the captain requesting the move must make contact with the opposing captain and ask for agreement.  A new date must be mutually agreed and the committee rep informed. The Committee rep will confirm that both captains are aligned and then the fixtures will be updated.  At this point the new date is binding for both teams.  Without a new date having been agreed AND the rep being made aware, the match is not considered to be rearranged and the original date will stand.

If a venue cannot hold a fixture on a certain day but the home team is available to play, the home team is responsible for finding an alternative venue to host the match. Failing this they will concede the match 7-0.

If the team themselves cannot attend a fixture they will have to cancel (concede the match 7-0).

Cancellations made well in advance will not be subject to further sanctions.  Last minute cancellations that mess the opposing team / venue around will be subject to further review by the committee.

New Team Entries Mid-Season and Drop Outs

On occasion throughout the season we have new teams wanting to enter and fill spaces in the league structure.  If this happens the new team will be entered into league and their points set to 0.  If they are replacing a team that has dropped out any results that have been played by the previous team will stand with no points awarded to the new team.

If a team drops out mid-season and there is no replacement then a 7-0 win for any remaining fixtures not played at the point that the team drops out will be awarded.  As with replacements any matches played the results will stand.
