Captains Cup - The Ultra Fabrication YWPL

This week Wednesday 18th December 2024 the annual Captains Cup knockout competition took place at the Clockhouse Pub in Acomb. All teams could register a maximum of two players per team this included Captains , Vice Captains and Team Members 52 players entered the competition. The singles knockout this year include a 20 second shot clock and a 20-minute maximum match time limit if the scores were level at the end of the 20 minutes a black ball shoot out took place to decide the winner.

The early rounds all played in good spirits the surprise of the night saw Jack Williams from The Mitre reaching the quarter finals in a great contest against reigning champion Craig Fox  from Clockhouse A who came out on top Winning 3-0 to progress to the semi-final.

Other quarter finals match saw Bri Baxter Huntington WMC C defeat John Patrick From Clockhouse Z 3-1,  Paul Thomas Clockhouse A defeated Eddy Arms A Jacob Simpson 3-0 and Huntington WMC A Andrew Coverdale defeated James Medley from The Lighthorsman 3-0 .

The Semi Final saw Paul Thomas defeat Andrew Coverdale 3-0 and Bri Baxter winning against Craig Fox 3-1 to both progress to the final

The final saw a great game between Paul Thomas and Bri Baxter with the scores level at 1-1 with 4 seconds to go on the 20-minute time limit time Paul potted the black to secure the win and a 2-1 victory to become the 2024 Captains Cup winner

This Sunday 22nd December we also have a Singles Knockout Competition at the Clockhouse in Acomb £5 to enter starting at 1pm everyone welcome
