Round 10 - Ultra Fabrication YWPL 11/12/2024
In the Ultra Fabrication YWPL Super League the Dick Turpin visited Haxby Sports Bar A and won 8-4 winning eight of the first ten frames to secure the victory with Tom Wilson , Matt Johnston, Bob Kelly and Pooky Wilson all wining two frames each to extend their lead at the top of the Super League at the Christmas Break
Huntington WMC A and Clockhouse P teams were involved in a game of two halves. Kristian Strangeway, Andrew Coverdale, Leigh Simms and Joe Snowden got Huntington off to a commanding 6-0 lead. Then fight back commenced, Frank Nicholson won CHP’s first point followed by three wins for Gary Pearce and a win each in the last two games for Neil Rippon and Ped Manfredi for a 6-6 draw.
#upthebish defeated Heworth A 8-4 , Bishopthorpe raced in to a 5-1 lead with Ryan Foy (2), Rob Barron (2) and Alice Paylor wining Frames. Heworth then won the next three frames to make the score 5-4 Dave Gray , Mark Baldwin and Paul Mahoney wining frames. The victory was secured with Bish winning the final three frames Rob Barron wining three on the night , Alice Paylor and Tom Thompsons all wining their frames to make the final score 8-4 to Bishopthorpe.
Clockhouse A won 9-3 against against Lawrence 8 Ballers Simon Newby and Craig Fox winning three each , Martin Oxberry winning two , Paul Thomas winning one that included a reverse dish.
In Division 2 More Mitre went 5-3 up with Clive Harley and Frazier Wyndham -Murray wining two frames each , before Edinburgh Arms A fought back to take a 6-6 draw.
The Hammers kept up the pressure at the top taking a hard fought 7-5 win at a much-improved Dick Turpin B . Game of the night and a huge well done to Rack ‘em up of Clifton taking a 5-2 lead at promotion chasers Edinburgh arms A’s Beth Hutson and Adam Johnson with two frames each at the end to fight back with a 7-5 win for the students.
In Division three this week the top of the table clash between The Bay Horse and Hogs Head saw the Bay Horse come out on top, winning 8-4 to send them to top of the league by 3 points going into the Christmas break. Strong performances on the night from Nick Ramsden and Mark Tomlinson helped the Bay, with both winning 3 games each.
The Rec Copmanthorpe continued their recent form with an 11-1 win away at The Hammers too with Roger Cheek and Rich Simpson winning all of their frames.
What’s Next in December
Next week is Captains Cup at the Clockhouse Acomb with over 50 Captains and Vice Captains entering the singles knockout tournament.
Sunday 22nd December we also have a Singles Knockout Competition at the Clockhouse Acomb £5 to enter starting at 1pm everyone welcome.
