If a Pair has difficulty contacting the other Pair they must contact the Div Reps or Committee for assistance.
In general, if results are not received before the cut-off then neither Pair will go through to the next round. However, the Committee may overturn this decision if a Pair proves they have made attempts to arrange the match and they have escalated to the Div Reps/Committee beforehand.

NOTE – FOR ROUNDS 1-3, THE FIRST PAIR DRAWN WILL BE DESIGNATED THE HOME PAIR AND THE MATCH MUST TAKE PLACE AT THEIR TEAM VENUE UNLESS OTHERWISE AGREED.
Rules
Scotch Doubles
Breaking:
- The team that wins the lag or the coin toss decides who will break.
- Players alternate turns within their team during the break and throughout the game.
- Players CAN discuss before the first shot after the break but must not communicate in any way during the visits thereafter.
Alternating Shots:
- After the break, players on the same team must alternate shots regardless of whether a ball is pocketed or not.
- The sequence must be maintained throughout the game. If Player A shoots first, Player B will shoot next, and this sequence continues.
- Breaks must also alternate per team per frame.
Communication:
- Communication between partners is allowed (see above), but it must be done before the player's shot. Discussing strategies after the player has taken their shot is not allowed and a foul will be awarded to incoming player.
Fouls:
- Standard pool foul rules apply.
- A common foul in Scotch Doubles is shooting out of turn. If a player shoots out of turn, it is considered a foul, and the incoming team receives a standard foul.
Sportsmanship:
- As with all pool games, good sportsmanship is expected. Unsportsmanlike conduct, such as distracting opponents or not respecting the alternating shot rule, can result in penalties or disqualification.
