Annual General Meeting 2025

Meeting Date: 27 January 2025

Time: 7:30 PM

Location: Ravenfield Arms, Rotherham

Attendees:

  • Daniel Redfern - League Chairman

Agenda:

  • Opening Remarks and Welcome.

  • Thanks to all captains and their cooperation throughout the previous season.
  • 2025 season fee's brief.

  • 2025 Season start date.

  • Secretary explains the term "warning" as per the rules of play.
  • Change proposals.

  • Secretary briefing on new league software.

Proposals:

  • Players who are registered but haven't at least 10 league games in the previous season to not be eligible for Knockout entries the following season (Team Knockout exception) - IMPLEMENTED.
  • Partners to only talk during a doubles match at the beginning of each visit, and not during  - Voted Against
  • Change the format from 6/3 to 7 singles and 2 doubles matches per evening - Voted Against
  • Change Format from 6/3 to 10 singles, and allowing a player to play twice - Voted Against
  • Registration deadline from 75% of fixtures completion, to 50% - IMPLEMENTED.
  • Remove current rule on players not being able to pick the white ball from the pocket or trap if it has fallen - IMPLEMENTED.
  • Breaking off to change from nominating to potting before being on that colour - IMPLEMENTED.
  • Change the tossing to decide who breaks into a lag - Voted Against
  • Change existing rule on being required to nominate a pocket when potting the black ball - Voted Against
  • Disputes on the night to change to involve both captains, both players involved and the referee - IMPLEMENTED.
  • Transition the league from 2 divisions to 3 this season - Voted Against

Changes:

  • First 5 from both teams are to be submitted by 8.30, with the remaining 4 matches by 9.30pm.
  • Both Captains to be responsibile of completing their own side of the score card via smartphone app, as per the above change.
  • Removed League Reg 4. Which states home venue ist o have a copy of the latest league rules readily available. This is now void as they are actively available via the league website.
  • Alteration to League Reg 17 as per AGM rules. Previously stated captains must present proposals in writing to the secretary 1 month before annual general meeting. Altered this to 1 week and not required to be in writing.
  • Removed League Reg 19 which states only 2 delegates are to attend league meetings for their team, however due to only now having the Annual General Meeting each year, and being open to all results in this regulation being void.
