Round Robin into Knockout Format

(Handicapped (+1/-1 max)
All standards can enter, however be aware that this is aimed at players of a higher standard. Players are guaranteed 3 matches each

Date & Venue:

Saturday 30th March 2024 (all day)
The Woolpack Inn, Fishbourne 
2 Tables in play with streaming all day

 

Format

- 16 players, 4 groups of 4

- 1st round consists of short matches (races to 3) within group, with each player playing the other 3 within their group

- 1 point awarded per frame within each match

- 1 point awarded for a match win 

- 1 bonus point awarded for a 3-0 win within groups... 

- EXAMPLE: A match finishes 3-1, the winner receives a total of 4 points (1 for each frame and 1 for the win). The loser receives 1 point (for their frame win). A 3-0 win results in 5 points, 1 per frame won as well as a match point, and a bonus point for not conceding any frames.

Knockout stages:

- Top 2 players from each group proceed through to knockout stages, starting with Quarter finals
- In the event that there is a tie between players in any group across all ranking criteria, a six red shootout between those players will be used to determine who proceeds to the knockout stages

- Quarter Finals & Semi Finals will be Races to 6

- Final will be a Race to 7 (Shot clock TBC)

 

Ruleset

- International 8 ball rules (this may be changed if feedback from players shows strong preference for Blackball)

- Golden break ACTIVE whereby the match is won if the 8 ball is potted legally from the break), as well as Golden Duck (8 Ball & Cue Ball from break is loss of frame). This will help with time

£35 Entry (Payment secures place, no exceptions)

15% rake taken for comp running, setup, streaming etc.)

Winner: £300 Cash + Cup/Trophy 

Runner-up: £100 Cash
Semis: Easter Egg + £15 Cash
