2024/25 Season
Registration for the new season is now over. Thank you to all of the teams who have registered for your continued support.
The new season is scheduled to begin on the 24th and 25th September and the fixtures will be released in due course.
If you wish to propose any changes for the new season, please send them in an email to grimsby.pool@gmail.com by the 14th September at the latest.
Could all team captains please check their list of registered players to ensure that they are correct. If you have rolled over your team from last season, some of those players may no longer be playing or may have chosen to move to a different team. Please send an email to grimsby.pool@gmail.com with the names of any players that need removing from your team.
The divisions for the new season will now be formed. When carrying out this task, there are multiple factors which we take into consideration. These include:
- The overall number of teams that have registered for the new season, e.g. 26 teams played on a Tuesday night during the 23/24 season and 30 teams have registered to play on a Tuesday night for the 24/25 season.
- The division in which a team played in last season and their finishing position in that division.
- A team finishing in the top two positions in their division last season will be promoted to the division above. If necessary, additional teams may be promoted if there are spaces due to teams from the previous season not registering for the new season.
- A team finishing in the bottom two positions in their division last season will be relegated to the division below. If necessary, relegations may be stopped if there are spaces due to teams from the previous season not registering for the new season.
- If a team has chosen to switch the night they play on, they will be placed in an appropriate division, should there be space available, based on the ability of their team as decided by the committee.
- Any new team that is composed of established players will be placed in an appropriate division, should there be space available, based on the ability of their team as decided by the committee.
Whilst we understand that not every team will be happy with the division they are placed in, it is a difficult balancing act trying to ensure that every team is placed correctly to allow for fairness and competitive divisions.
