League Update - 12/11/24

As we approach the final stages of the first part of the season, things are generally running smoothly, despite a few initial teething issues. Both the singles and doubles competitions are in full swing, and the first round of the team knockout is just a few weeks away.

However, we are still experiencing problems with teams not uploading their completed match cards to WhatsApp after their games, and some teams are also failing to complete the app on match nights. Completing these tasks is a league requirement, and failure to do so may lead to point deductions moving forward.

A few weeks ago, we encountered an issue with incomplete football cards at certain venues, which resulted in the withdrawal of food the following week. While it is a league requirement for venues to provide food, it is also reasonable for them to recover some of their costs. Any negative comments directed at individuals or venues on social media will not be tolerated. If you have any issues with a venue, please reach out directly to the committee. Let’s all support the proper completion of match cards so we can continue enjoying suppers on league nights.

On the financial side, we’ve now set up a new bank account for the league, and we expect the transfer of funds from the old account to be completed in the next week or so. Once this is finalised, we will share an updated balance sheet with you all.

Lastly, the Presentation Night is scheduled for Friday, 29th November, at the league. Please come along to show your support and help make this event a success for everyone involved.
