1.                           Welcome – Introduction Carl and Dale

Reasons we’re given as to why Carl and Dale had decided to take over the running of the league for the coming season and beyond. Main reason being Neil is struggling with work and from where he lives to keep on top of everything and Karl at the Bridge had decided to take a step back but will be supporting us through our new roles. Neil will stay on and continue to organise the presentation this year before looking to take a step back.

2.                           Way forward for league – Keep it simple this year move it forward next year.

We discussed that the league was meant to be fun, competitive and was always designed to give our local pubs more revenue on a relatively quiet night. Going forward into 24/25 season nothing would change as this was not an AGM. All voted in rules to carry forward until the next AGM except for the league format.

3.                           Format and Leagues – 3 Times play each other to be explained

We have had 14 entrants for the winter league which means we can create two leagues and also re-introduce the team knockout. Summer league entrants Railway, Dutchman A, Bridge A&B, League B to remain in the A division, along with the winners of the summer B division Starkies A and we have decided to put Read Con Club in the A division going off their records previously. It was also decided that Molly Rigbys would move to the B division. Each team plays three times and although inevitably there will be some teams playing more away than at home each pub would get their fair share of the fixtures. Scotch Doubles also to remain in the format.

4.                           Singles/Doubles – Rules

We have also decided to bring back singles and doubles competitions for this season, all entries have now been received and checked and the draws are now live on the new app. Please note you cannot play in singles and doubles if you do not play in the league on a regular basis. Messages were sent out giving an extended deadline of 24 hours for entries.

5.                           New App – Carl to explain

Rackemup is the new app we will be using going forward and Carl gave a brief overview of how it would work. All captains will receive email invites to join, and Carl will be formulating an instruction sheet for you to be able to use going forward. It was explained that the app was a simple version of the old one but held much more information without having to click through adverts. The season the app is free, however it will cost for the next season – this will be discussed at the next AGM.

6.                           Result reporting what we expect

Nothing will change for the new season, cards will still need to be completed and sent to the what’s app group. It is the responsibility of both team captains to ensure that results are correct on the website and inputted on the night. All players will need to sign the card, and any players who have been at the venue on the night will need to sign the back.

7.                           Whats app – Captains and Vice only included rest to be removed.

What’s app will be checked in the coming days and anyone who is on there who shouldn’t be will be removed. This is a results and queries channel only. We suggested creating another group for general chat, no one seemed to come forward, however we will keep that open and that can be done in the future.

8.                           Fixtures available for collection by next Monday

All fixtures for the new season will be available for collection from the Bridge Inn from 7pm on Monday 30th September. Also available will be all knockout draws. These will also be available to view on the website.

9.                           Supper to be provided as part of the league rules for the winter league.

As per the AGM 2024 suppers will be re-introduced for the winter season. Please support the football card so this can be ongoing throughout the season without any issues.

10.                     Any Other Business

It was noted that the treasurer Mark had not really been involved with the league for a number of years and that the banking procedures and old and out of date. No real record of monies coming in or out are available. It was agreed that Neil would contact Mark to see if he would want to relinquish this role so we can bring this back in house.
