Leaders fall to Newdigate again

Leaders Lucky Break 'B' were beaten for a second time this season by Newdigate Sports as the Smorrall Lane potters edged them 8 - 7 again. Birthday boy Johnny Webb was in sparkling form with a hat trick of wins for Newdigate while Daz Lee & Ian Stephenson potted 2 wins apiece. Jack Schofield knocked in another break dish for the break boys while Craig West added a couple of frames. Despite the defeat the Lucky Break 'B' remain in top spot some 16 points clear. Sultans Smashers lost ground on the front 2 after going down 8 - 7 to Team Gurkha Corner. Becs McCool opening the match by 7 balling the Sultan while Ryan McCool reverse dished the the 13th frame, the Smashers Steve Cooper potted all 3 frames for the hosts. Lucky Break 'A' had to be on top of their game to see off a spirited Miners Rat Pack 9 - 6, Ryan Dolman & Jack Chippendale the top breakers while Angela Lloyd potted 2 wins for the Rat Pack. Coton Sports took the bragging rights in the Coton Derby after they beat Coton Gloves 8 - 7. In a cracking match Mike Parry & Darren Moore were the top cues for the Sports while Matt Gill who all his 3 frames for the Gloves.
