Newdigate on cue to topple leaders
Newdigate Sports were firmly in the pot zone as they beat title favourites Lucky Break 'A' 8 - 7 in a pulsating match. The Break took the first section 3 - 2 and lead 5 - 3 but the Smorrall Laners reeled off 5 frames in a row to pot the victory, Martin Groves potting the all important match winner, Johnny Webb collecting 3 wins while Jack Schofield took 3 for the vistors including a break dish.
Team Gurkha Corner produced a fantastic comeback to beat Sultans Smashers 8 - 7 in a highly entertaining match, they remain the only unbeaten side in the league. The Coton Roaders found themselves 4 - 1 and 5 - 2 down, but potted 5 frames in a row to take a 7 - 5 lead, Smashers levelled the match before Ryan McCool held his nerve to beat the Sultan in the decider, Steve Cooper in fine form for the Smashers reverse dishing the 13th frame.
Coton Gloves won the battle of Coton beating Sports 8 - 7 in another thrilling match, Brandon Walker, Matt Gill and Al Pearce the top Gloves while Karl Hinchen, Shaun Johnston and Kyle Allen won 2 each for Sports. The new look Lucky Break 'A' were this week's biggest winners beating Miners Rat Pack 11 - 4, the Miners were leading 4 - 3 at one point but the Lucky Break turned on the after burners and took the next 8 frames for victory. Ryan Dolman with 3 wins for Lucky Break wile Ant McGuffie was the pick of the Miners players.
